In a surprising collaboration that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned rituals and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an special katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
